Mac Demarco Plays to a Sold Out Mohawk

Fresh off Tuesday’s Austin City Limits taping at The Moody Theatre, Mac DeMarco played a second sold out Austin show the following night at the Mohawk. Everyone in attendance was blessed with a 3 hour set featuring some old songs, a few covers, and the hits off his latest album This Old Dog. The night came off more as a comedy set from DeMarco who took his time in between songs to talk to fans, bring a few on stage, and even took requests from the crowd.

A highlight from the night was when DeMarco channeled his inner Michael Jackson to deliver a stellar performance of his hit song “Man In The Mirror” which threw everyone off guard with how great it sounded. Another cover came when he decided to play Vanessa Carlton’s “A Thousand Miles” by only repeating “Making my way downtown” for the entire duration of the song, verse and chorus included.

This was a special performance that felt like you were hanging out with your goofy best friend and not a touring musician. A night full of laughter and singing along to your favorite songs while also witnessing the characteristics that have made DeMarco an internet sensation.
